Peer Well-Being Coaching
Well-being coaching offers ¾«Ñ¡Â鶹¶þÇø students free one on one guided conversations with a trained peer well-being coach.
In this supportive space, the student is in the driver's seat and receives guidance to reflect on their own well-being, set realistic goals, identify potential challenges and strategies to overcome those challenges and build confidence to make change.
Well-Being Coaching Sessions
Our well-being sessions are run by our coaches: TU Graduate students who are trained to facilitate coaching and are ready to support students. They are good listeners, passionate about well-being and trained to maintain confidentiality.
Students may choose to participate in coaching sessions because:
- They want to make change but don't know how.
- They want to try out a new habit or create a consistent routine.
- They are curious about their well-being.
- They are facing a well-being challenge.
What to Expect During a Session
Students are given guidance to reflect on their well-being, determine priorities and set goals. Once students pick the topic and goal, they learn how to use previous experiences and their own personal strengths to make change. Coaches help them identify strategies that have helped them in the past as well as troubleshoot any potential challenges that can arise. Coaches can provide resources but won’t be teaching students in depth information about specific topics.
During each session, students are given the opportunity to schedule a follow up session so they can check back in with a coach about their priorities and goals.

Make an Appointment
Choose Virtual or in Person
We offer in-person and virtual options for coaching sessions that are approximately 30-45 minutes. Follow up sessions may be shorter. If a virtual appointment is scheduled, you will be emailed a link to join a video call.
In-person sessions are held in the Ward and West building on campus, which also houses the Health Center and Counseling Center. The coaching room is WW1200. You can enter through the main entrance and follow the signs for Peer Well-being Coaching. If you have any issues finding the space, the Health Center front desk can give you guidance.
Find the Right Support Resource for You
Coaching provides students with a space to set goals and work towards change. Coaching doesn’t diagnose or treat mental health or physical conditions, so it isn’t meant to take the place of therapy or a medical services. Towson University offers many different kinds of support to students, and coaching may not always be the best fit for a student’s needs.
